Our research
Main question: How can you make trips greener?
Final conclusion to main question:
There are many possibilities to make trips greener Like going with public transport to your work or carpooling with your fellow colleagues. We think that behavior is a big influence for making trips greener. Why go by car when you just have to drive 2km? If you go on the bike, it's better for the nature and for your health, so by changing your behavior you can make trips greener.
Recommendation:
I would recommend this project to others because it was fun and we learned a lot from it. The only problem was that it wasn’t really clear what we had to do at times.

Comparison
1. My Green Trips / Hiranandani Foundation School International, Mumbai
2. Ecological Companies / Hiranandani Foundation School International, Mumbai
We compared with an Indian group of last year because there isn’t a My Green Trips group this year. Also we asked questions to the Ecological Companies group via the WhatsApp group, in order to try and make a comparison with this year as

Our research results:
Many people in the Netherlands travel by bike, especially children and they mostly use them to go to school. This is good for the environment, but unfortunately also many people travel by car, which isn’t so good for the environment. Only a few people travel by public transport a lot, mostly because it’s expensive and you can’t leave whenever you want. |
Main research results of group My Green Trips of school Hiranandani:
Many students use a private car to go to school, because they don’t own a bike or they aren’t allowed to cycle or walk home. Also going by bus is too expensive. Their solution for reducing private car use is to go carpooling. Main research results of group Ecological Companies of school Hiranandani: Students in Mumbai, India mainly use buses to go to school, which isn’t very environmental friendly. They very rarely use bikes, but they do use Rickshaws and also cars. In some parts of India, people use bullock carts and horse carts to travel. |
Similarities:
In India and in the Netherlands, people use private cars a lot.
Differences:
In the Netherlands we use bikes to go everywhere, but in India they hardly use bikes. Also many students use buses or private cars to go to school, which we hardly do.

Reflection
Research and group work. What went well/what would you do differently?
The first video conference went very well. There were no problems with the audio and all the groups were organized very well. The Indian kids were very open and kind so you could ask them everything. The second video conference was a little bit all over the place. The Indian kids couldn't hear us at the beginning of the conference, but we found a solution and the rest of the conference went swimmingly. After the second video converence we found out that there is no ''my green trips'' group from India which means we had problems with comparing our subject. Luckily we could ask the Indian kids questions about our subject in the groups app on whatsapp. We divided the tasks that everybody had to do equally fair . Lein divided all the questions and subjects so everybody had something to work on. After everybody had made their part we handed it in to Quinn. Quinn would put everything together and would make everything look very good together. He also would put the information on weebly.
What did you learn about the topic?
We learned how to make our trips as green as possible, We learned how to process much information into tables, we learned that India has a very different culture and we finally and most importantly learned how to solve problems for example the comparison problem.

Evidence of Communiction
The first skypecall
In the Go green project we Communicated a lot with the groups from the school of india. We did this by use of the internet. In the first few weeks of the project we had a skypecall with the school from india, in this skypecall we introduced ourselves and we asked them questions. We asked some very regular questions just to get to know the pupils better. We asked them how they go to school, how many brother/sisters, how their school looks like etc.
WhatsApp
In the first weeks of the poject we were added to a whatsApp group, together with the group from companies of our school and their school. We didn’t had a real counterpart because there wasn’t a group with trips from the indian school. But the group from companies wanted to answer questions we needed for our research.

The second Skypecall
In the week before the end of the project we had another video conversation with the indian school via skype. This skypecall was ment to share information on the research we did and what we found out while finding information. This skypecall was also the last time in which we could really talk to them and ask them questions, so we made use of i tand we asked questions about their research.
Conclusion
All the communication we had went really good. The skypecalls were handy but I think the WhatsApp group was really handy because if we had a questions or they had we could immidiatly answer each other.
